In an astonishing case that has captured hearts across Nigeria and beyond, twin boys Daniel and David Omeron were born just minutes apart — but their physical appearances couldn’t be more different. Despite both parents, Stacy and Babajide, being Black, one twin was born with dark skin and curly hair like the rest of the family, while the other was born with white skin and golden hair due to albinism.

The twins, now local celebrities in Lagos, arrived via cesarean section on February 26. Daniel was delivered first, followed by David — whose appearance left doctors, nurses, and even his mother stunned. “When the nurse said the second baby had golden hair, I was confused,” Stacy, a fashion designer, said. “Then I saw David, covered in white. I couldn’t believe my eyes.”

David has oculocutaneous albinism, a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 1 in 20,000 births. It results in a lack of melanin, the pigment responsible for coloring skin, hair, and eyes. While albinism is more common in certain parts of the world, it’s especially rare in African countries, making David’s birth particularly unique.

The twins share a close bond, enjoying dance sessions with their father and playtime together. “They’re best friends,” Stacy beams. “They may look different, but they have the same personality and love for fun.”

The boys’ unique appearance has gained them wide admiration, and even interest from a UK-based modeling agency. For Stacy, the attention is secondary. “They’re both beautiful. It doesn’t matter what color their skin is — they’re my children, and I’m proud of them.”

In a world that often struggles with differences, Daniel and David are a powerful reminder of the beauty in diversity.
