Heartless Owner Dumps Dog on Street, Coldly Says ‘Bye-Bye’ Before Driving Off

A heartbreaking case of animal abandonment in Surprise, Arizona, has left pet lovers outraged after a woman was caught on camera cruelly leaving a dog behind on a quiet street.

The disturbing footage, captured by a security camera on March 8, 2025, shows a red SUV pulling into a dead-end. The vehicle slows, and the rear door opens. A black and white dog is pushed out. Without a second glance, the woman coldly says “bye-bye” before speeding away. The confused dog chases after the car, heartbroken and desperate to follow the only person he knew.

Joanna Buesen, who was walking her own dog nearby, witnessed the gut-wrenching moment. “I was angered. I was flabbergasted. Just so many emotions,” she told Arizona Family. Seeing the abandoned dog run after the vehicle, she gently called to him. The dog immediately turned and ran to her — finally finding compassion.

Buesen took him home, fed him, and comforted him until animal control arrived. The community’s outrage was swift. “That is just a soulless thing,” Buesen said of the abandonment. Neighbor Kim Igo added, “We’ve seen people dump things before, but not animals. That’s a new level.”

Thankfully, the incident did not go unnoticed. The SUV’s license plate was captured on video, and by March 11, FOX 10 Phoenix confirmed that both individuals involved had turned themselves in. They now face charges of animal cruelty.

The dog, now in the care of a local shelter, is safe and recovering. Soon, he’ll be ready for adoption — a second chance at the love and loyalty he deserves.
