Lori Vallow Daybell Just Got Convicted Again — This Time for Plotting to Kill Her Niece’s Ex-Husband

A Maricopa County jury has convicted Lori Vallow Daybell, 51, on charges of conspiring to murder Brandon Boudreaux, her niece’s ex-husband. The attempt, which occurred in October 2019 outside Boudreaux’s home in Gilbert, marks Vallow Daybell’s second murder conspiracy conviction in Arizona within two months.

Prosecutors say Vallow Daybell conspired with her late brother, Alex Cox, to orchestrate the attack. Cox allegedly fired a rifle from a Jeep driven by Vallow Daybell’s daughter, Tylee Ryan, striking Boudreaux’s car window but missing him directly. Boudreaux later identified the vehicle as the same one his ex-wife used prior to her disappearance.
Nicknamed the “Doomsday mother,” Vallow Daybell is already serving three life sentences in Idaho for the 2019 murders of her two children, Tylee and J.J., and for conspiring to kill her current husband’s ex-wife, Tammy Daybell. In April 2025, an Arizona jury found her guilty of conspiring with Cox to murder her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, in a separate case.
Representing herself in both Arizona trials, Vallow Daybell was removed from court on June 6 after sparring with Judge Justin Beresky over evidence rules regarding her character. The judge warned that further outbursts could cost her the right to self-representation.
Boudreaux, who testified during the trial, described the ordeal as a difficult duty. “I did not enjoy sitting and giving someone who tried to kill me the chance to question me,” he said, adding, “But I owed it to Charles, to Tylee, to J.J., and to Tammy.” He joined Vallow Daybell’s surviving son, Colby Ryan, in court after the verdict.
Vallow Daybell faces sentencing for both Arizona convictions on July 25, with each count carrying a potential life sentence. After that, she will remain in Arizona before being returned to Idaho to continue serving her existing sentences.
