In a surprising twist to an increasingly public feud, President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to sell—or even give away—his Tesla Model S, distancing himself from tech mogul Elon Musk. The move comes just three months after Trump purchased the $80,000 red electric vehicle to show support for Tesla owners amid political scrutiny.

According to a senior White House official who spoke with Inside Edition, the president has grown “fed up” with Musk and is determined to sever ties. Speaking to reporters by phone Friday morning, Trump said he’s “not ready to forgive or forget,” adding, “Musk has got a problem.”

The dispute has escalated rapidly. Musk recently posted a video of Trump at a 1992 party with Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting—without evidence—that the former president is tied to the sealed Epstein files. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also claimed that Republicans should side with him, boasting that while Trump has “three and a half years left as president,” he will be “around for 40-plus years.”

Trump allies are already responding. Steve Bannon called for Trump to seize SpaceX and deport Musk, despite the entrepreneur’s status as a naturalized U.S. citizen. Meanwhile, Musk’s ex-girlfriend Ashley Sinclair chimed in on social media, offering Trump “breakup advice.”

Celebrities and politicians are also weighing in. Kanye West urged the two to make peace, while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked the spat, quipping, “The girls are fighting.”

Despite the drama, some insiders believe reconciliation is still possible. Trump has a long history of transforming foes into friends. For now, though, his Tesla may be the latest casualty of a clash between two of America’s most high-profile egos.
