A Washington community is reeling after the bodies of three young sisters were found in a remote campground area, and authorities say their father — now the prime suspect — is on the run.

The girls, identified as 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker, were reported missing last Friday after failing to return home from a scheduled visitation with their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, their mother, Whitney Decker, alerted authorities when the girls didn’t come back as expected — something that had never happened before during previous visits.

After a multi-day search, police located the children’s bodies near their father’s abandoned truck at the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, a rural area more than an hour away from Wenatchee.

Travis Decker, described by police as a former military member with “extensive training,” has not been seen since and is currently wanted on three counts each of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Authorities say Decker has been living out of his vehicle and frequently staying in hotels, motels, or campsites across the region.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” said Wenatchee police in a statement. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and all those grieving the loss of these precious children.”

Heartbreaking tributes have poured in from the local community. A Facebook memorial group titled “Remembering Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia” has become a digital gathering place for friends, neighbors, and classmates to share memories and grief.

“My daughter called Olivia her best friend at school,” wrote Tina Arias. Another user, Andy Jones, recalled coaching Paityn in sports and anticipating a summer of soccer.

The community has rallied around the grieving mother, raising over \$100,000 through a GoFundMe campaign titled “Support Whitney Decker.” The funds will help cover legal expenses, funeral costs, and give Whitney time to grieve without the burden of financial strain.

“It is with a shattered heart that I share the news of their passing,” wrote fundraiser organizer Amy Edwards. “The world has lost three bright lights.”

Authorities continue to search for Travis Decker, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. As the investigation unfolds, a devastated community is left mourning three young lives cut tragically short.
